Our Demo Boat Project Expands Facilities
27.9.2024
We’re announcing the start of our new boat-building project. The boat will serve as a dynamic showcase for our electric propulsion system. This project marks another milestone in our journey as we strive to innovate in electric propulsion technology. Follow along as we track the progress of our demo boat from concept to completion.> FEBRUARY 2025 Update

Four months have flown by since our initial announcement of the demo boat project, and we’ve been busy! We’ve navigated some tricky bits, especially considering the small team working on this first-of-its-kind model, but we’re really pleased with the progress.
We’ve achieved some major milestones. The boat has been in the water for the first time, the 3D model is complete, and we’ve defined all the key components: propulsion system, throttle lever, display, propeller, batteries, charger, and more. Details on these components will follow below. The swim platform is installed, the windscreen has been delivered, and the console is integrated. Seeing these elements come together provides a real sense of how the finished boat will look and perform.
First Time in the Water
Our headquarters aren’t near the sea, but we’re fortunate to be located in a region with several lakes where we can test the boat. While combustion engines are prohibited on these lakes, our electric boat is permitted. Last week, we tested the buoyancy at full weight, and the results were positive, confirming our calculations.
Propulsion

We will install the C80 direct drive model, which, as a single unit, includes an electric motor with a built-in thrust bearing, a motor controller, an ECU, electrical and water connections, a complete cooling system, and a frame with engine mounts. More details about our propulsion systems are available here.
Power [kW] (continuous) | Torque [Nm] (continuous) | Torque [Nm] (peak) | Motor nominal speed [RPM] | Battery [Vdc] | Total Length [mm] (assembled) | Total Weight [kg] (assembled) | |

C80 | 80 | 238 | 336 | 3200 | 400 | 529 | 71 |
Throttle Lever, Display, and Digital Switch
To showcase the full range of our products and provide a comprehensive, integrated experience, the boat will also feature an NT Systems side-mount throttle lever and a Q2 10” MFD LED display with digital switching enabled.

One of the cool features of our throttle levers is built-in NFC technology. This means you don’t need an ignition switch and key anymore. You just tap an NFC-enabled keycard on the throttle lever to unlock it and initiate the propulsion start procedure. Learn more here.

The display features a propulsion interface, multimedia, navigation, and digital switching. The Digital Switch has 20 configurable I/O through the user interface. This means there will be no physical buttons on the console - everything will be touch-operated on the screen. Further information can be found here.

Batteries & Charging
The boat will have a 47 kWh battery pack weighing 260 kg. We’ve also ensured support for the CCS standard and fast charging, which will charge the battery to 80% in approximately 45 minutes.
Cockpit & Interior Details
Here’s a preview of the design, which is still under development. We’re aiming for a modern and minimalist feel. The cockpit will feature teak decking and high-quality marine-grade upholstery. As mentioned earlier, the console will be completely touch-operated, with no physical buttons.

Next Update?
We’re not quite there yet, but we’re getting close.
We’ll keep you posted on developments as we move towards completion. We’re genuinely excited to show you the finished boat and demonstrate what our systems can do. Keep an eye on our LinkedIn and YouTube channels, and check back here for updates.
Full Speed Ahead! ⚡️ 🌊 ⚓️

Boat Specifications and Features
The boat is a 7.3-meter speedboat with a carbon fiber hull, designed for up to four people. It features a comfortable sunbathing area, a swim platform and an invisibly integrated bimini that can be set up in a few simple moves. It will be powered by the NT Systems propulsion motor in a direct drive configuration, equipped with our throttle lever and display, which provides voyage information and also serves as a propulsion interface, ensuring data about the system is available at all times.
In-House Craft
Our team brings a wealth of expertise in electric and hybrid propulsion systems, rooted in years of hands-on experience with complex yacht integrations, electric engineering and installation projects. This extensive knowledge, combined with our comprehensive in-house capabilities, allows us to design, build and equip a fully functional demo boat from the ground up, showcasing NT Systems technology.
That’s It
Follow us on LinkedIn and YouTube for updates, and be sure to check our website regularly as we bring this electric speedboat to life. We’ll keep you informed on our progress, especially when we are nearing the completion of the boat because we can’t wait to share the finished product and demonstrate the capabilities of our systems.
